£500. Research into all your family lines taken back as far as c1800 where possible with any necessary certification, copying and costs included. Lines will be taken back beyond c1800 if I reasonably can using Parish Records, Wills and other records. The results will be presented in various formats including gedcom, ancestral reports, and in PDF book form ready for you to turn into a printed record if you so choose. This work will generally take about 3 months to complete due to the waiting time for certificates etc to be ordered, although it can be done in a quicker space of time if required, although the depth of the research will naturally be less developed.
Starter Package:
£80.Ideal for the person who wants to start researching their own family history but isnt sure how to get things moving! I will spend 8 hours checking my records and databases to build your tree as much as possible, providing you with a referenced list of certificates that might be beneficial for you to obtain in order to take the next steps. The results will be supplied in a gedcom along with details of a free online family tree program that you can download and load the gedcom into if you do not already have a family tree program. Transcriptions of any possibly relevant census details and other records found will also be included. There will also be an ancestor report that details the findings in a readable format. This is a great way to really get your own research moving!
Booster Package:
£80.Ideal if you have started your own tree and want some help taking it a bit further, or would like to have the work you have already done padded out a bit more by reference with my own collections. Simply send me your gedcom and I will add to it wherever I can. If after 4 hours I am not happy with the progress I have made, I will stop and contact you with details of what I have achieved, and any negative results I have hit so that you can avoid covering the same ground as I have. If you want me to stop at this point, then there will be a 50% refund of the total cost.
Photography:
£15 per hour or £50 for 4 hours and £80 for a full 8 hour day I will visit sites within Kent and take photographs for you. Any freely available leaflets and booklets will be included in the package. If you book 4 hours or more, up to £5 worth of sold literature will also be included such as Church Guides, Historic Postcards, etc. The photos will be simply digital photos taken with my own camera and sent to you on CD or by email. A maximum of only 2 locations is realistic in a single 8 hour day, unless you choose locations that are very close to each other.
Retainer:
£20 pa.A useful addition to our services, by taking out a retainer fee of £20 per year, I will forward any names or details that might help you with your research that I come across in my other researches. This service is only available to customers who have used one of my other services, and can help throw up unexpected leads for example a name in a parish register that you might not otherwise have thought of checking, or a name crops up in any new resources I purchase.
Basic Research Rates:
£15 per hour or £50 for 4 hours and £80 for a full 8 hour day. This can be either within my own records at home or for research carried out in a Record Office etc. The time includes my travelling time which is usually about 90 minutes for Centres in Maidstone, Canterbury and Medway but I pay my own travel costs. Areas further away in Kent or in London can be travelled to on arrangement in consultation. Any photocopies etc taken will be charged at cost price and supplied to you with the rest of your results.
